the four strands

The major national priority areas to be supported by the Hubs in 2008/10 are listed below the South London Hub has chosen to adopt the transition strand as their regional strand::

  • The dissemination and embedding of approaches set down in the Inclusion Development Programme in LA support, challenge and advice to schools – Hubs will have a major role in supporting local implementation and evaluating impact.

Lead: Roland Ramanan - Tower Hamlets

  • Narrowing attainment gaps, progression and evaluating progress. This strand will develop local work on progression for pupils with SEN/LDD and regional input into the forthcoming national guidance on what constitutes good progress for children and young people with SEN/LDD. It will link in with the work of SEN and school improvement consultants and apply RAISEonline to the progression of pupils with SEN.

Lead: Marion Pearce

  • The application of the DCSF Planning and Developing Special Educational Provision guidance including its application alongside the new guidance on The Education of Children and Young People Experiencing Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties as a Special Educational Need.  The aim will be to support LAs in their plans to further develop a flexible range of provision to meet needs as part of the overall strategic approach to school organisation including BSF.
